How many times a day do you pick up your mobile phone? And do you know how much science is needed to light up its display, send a message or connect you to the world? This year’s nationwide Science Night theme, Communication, is a perfect fit for CEITEC BUT. We research materials and develop technologies that are essential for today’s smartphones and the communication devices of the future.

On Friday, 25 September, we will show you the mobile phone as you have never seen it before.

Families with children can look forward to an adventurous Hero Journey. From 5:00 p.m., our hero Signálek will guide you through the laboratories of CEITEC BUT. Each stop will offer a different perspective on science, many laboratories will open their doors directly to visitors, and a surprise will await you at the end of the journey.

The Hero Journey is also suitable for English-speaking visitors and families. English speakers can also take part in the measurement of electrical nerve signals activity (registration necessary).

The programme will also include exclusive guided tours of facilities that are not normally accessible to the public. These tours will be held in Czech only. However, English-speaking visitors should be able to participate if accompanied by someone who speaks Czech and can translate for them. Capacity is limited, so advance registration is required using the links below.
